Armstrong DR-GS-65H Electric start
Petrol Wood Chipper
Make light work of garden clearance with the Armstrong DR-GS-65H Professional wood chipper.
This high powered, electric start chipper can reduce large quantities of garden refuse into reusable, manageable waste in no time, at a price that is as impressive as the quality of the machine.
The Armstrong DR-GS-65H Wood Chipper has been designed and engineered to give unrivalled performance in its class. Built to the superior standards that people expect from Armstrongs, the DR-GS-65H Wood Chipper is able to break down branches and sticks up to an impressive 100mm diameter.
To ensure the reliability, strength and long life associated with Armstrongs machinery, we have partnered with the world-renowned KOHLER Engines to provide the power for our full range of arboricultural equipment. Bringing Euro V emissions standards, we’re proud to be able to supply the most up to date environmentally friendly petrol power with optimal fuel economy and reliability.
The Armstrong DR-GS-65H features the Kohler CH270 208cc Command PRO 7hp Euro V Petrol Engine, which transmits its power to the chipper drum via a centrifugal clutch and a pair of heavy-duty rubber drive belts.
The chipper drum is mounted on 2 sealed for life bearings and features 2 opposing double-sided hardened chipper blades – these can be reversed to give a new edge and twice the working life. The blades rotate in an anti-clockwise direction, towards the adjustable counter knife at between 3000 and 4000 RPM. The optimal blade clearance between the chipper blades and the chippers counter knife is between 0.5 and 1mm.
The chipper can process branches with a maximum diameter of 100mm, but the optimal working range for heavy duty and prolonged use is around 60-80mm depending on (among other factors) the moisture level and hardness of the wood you are chipping.
Although the Armstrong DR-GS-65H has been designed as a chipper and not a shredder, it is capable of handling green waste when combined in reduced quantities with branches and sticks. An overload of green matter is likely to cause blockages.
For maximum stability and ease of manoeuvrability the Armstrong DR-GS-65H is built on a 570mm wide chassis and fitted with large pneumatic tyres. The integrated handles on the intake hopper are ergonomically sited to use the point of balance to make control and movement of the machine effortless.
The intake hopper of the chipper is hinged, to make access to the chipper drum and blades simple. The discharge chute is fitted with a 360-degree aimable swivel head allowing the material from the chipper to be directed exactly where you want it.
For safety, not only are all working parts, including drive belts, drums and blades covered by guards, but the Armstrong DR-GS-65H is also fitted with an emergency cut off switch, which is operated by a safety bar located on the intake hopper.
*All machines bought direct from us are supplied with either a 1-year business use warranty or a 2-year domestic use warranty. Simply complete the registration card and once verified, the warranty will be in force.
**Both KOHLER and we are able to supply spare parts back up and customer service to our valued direct sales customers.
There are similar machines on the market, but we are confident that the engineering and build quality of an Armstrong make the value clear to see.
